Free and Visually Stimulating Dream-Based Virtual Reality Game

It is often said that dreams hold the keys to our very existence. These captivating visual experiences can now be enjoyed thanks to a virtual reality game simply known as Wake Up.

Plot and Basic Gameplay

Wake Up is set within a strange virtual world comprised of abstract colors, shapes and floating objects. The player is guided from realm to realm with the help of a mysterious ethereal butterfly. Interacting with this creature provides hints and paths to higher dimensions. Unlike some other VR platforms, this game offers up an entirely immersive puzzle-solving experience through the use of stimulating audio and visual effects. These are then augmented with a three-dimensional perspective as well as a "fuzzy" sensation that often defines our dreams.

A Nice Entry-Level Game

Wake Up is free to download and it will take between 20 and 40 minutes to complete. Still, players will be surrounded by an entirely unique environment and a proprietary audio soundtrack punctuates the challenges that await. The game has been developed by a small Austrian firm known as Black Cell and this is their first venture into virtual reality technology.

PROS

  • There are no fees required when downloading this game.
  • The graphics and audio effects are very impressive.

CONS

  • Some might feel that the challenges are easy to complete.
  • At least eight gigabytes of free RAM are needed.
